Alterationist

Summary

The Alterationist fits, pins, marks and alters garments to client specifications in the store alterations atelier. The role focuses on delivering high-quality technical alterations for luxury fabrics, ensuring correct fit and timely completion while partnering with sales associates to satisfy clients.

Responsibilities

• Measure clients to determine scope of work
• Pin and mark garments appropriate to fabric and fit
• Complete alterations to the highest technical standard and deliver on or before promised date
• Inform clients of alteration charges and confirm promise dates
• Partner with Sales Associates and provide expert guidance on cut and fit
• Maintain a clean, orderly atelier and report supply or equipment needs

Requirements

• Tailoring/seamstress technical training or equivalent
• 2 years experience in a similar capacity
• Experience altering luxury fabrications
• Ability to communicate comfortably in English and/or French
