Alterations Associate - Madison Avenue

Summary

Provide professional alterations services for luxury garments including pinning, fitting, marking, and sewing. Work directly with clients and sales associates to ensure proper fit and finish, handling complex constructions and high-end materials. Deliver timely, detail-oriented workmanship in a boutique store environment.

Responsibilities

• Fit and alter garments to customer and manufacturing specifications
• Perform repairs and made-to-measure sewing using needles, thread, and machines
• Assemble garment parts and join with basting stitches as needed
• Partner with sales associates to service clients during fittings
• Communicate alterations process and options to clients
• Ensure alterations meet sales associate and customer requirements
• Bend and kneel during fittings to accurately mark garments
• Lift and carry garments including gowns up to 10lbs

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years experience in boutique or store environments
• Proven experience altering dresses and high-end materials
• Knowledge of alterations equipment and complex garment construction
• Ability to interact professionally with clients during fittings
• Highly motivated, detailed, and able to work efficiently under pressure
• Responsible and able to complete projects on time
• Physical ability to bend, kneel, lift, and carry garments
