Job Description

Summary

As an Alterations Clerical at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York, you will provide leadership and support to the Alterations Services team, ensuring outstanding service and meeting client needs. You will work under the direction of the General Manager or Alterations Services Manager to drive workroom excellence and support company initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Create a professional work environment by upholding Saks Fifth Avenue standards of excellence.
  • Conduct reviews and deliver technical training to workroom associates.
  • Monitor associate schedules and maintain appropriate workroom coverage.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment and ensure equipment upkeep.
  • Support company/store initiatives and assist with made-to-measure services.
  • Foster teamwork within the alteration workroom and address customer service issues.
  • Achieve financial and performance goals and ensure consistent implementation of procedures and pricing policies.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years tailoring experience with luxury merchandise preferred.
  • Fashion Design Degree preferred.
  • Ability to fit and perform alterations on a wide range of garments.
  • Knowledge of pattern making, draping, and garment construction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; fluency in a second language is a plus.
