Summary
The Alterations Lead oversees the boutique Atelier and ensures a precise, elevated fitting experience for clients. This role safeguards CHANEL tailoring standards, develops the tailoring team, and coordinates Atelier operations and workload.
Responsibilities
- Conduct client fittings and recommend alteration solutions that preserve each garment’s style and construction.
- Validate alteration decisions and finished work for quality, precision, and consistency.
- Lead, coach, and develop Tailors while assigning work based on skills, capacity, and deadlines.
- Coordinate Atelier priorities, workload, client commitments, supplies, equipment, and workshop standards.
- Monitor performance, lead times, quality, and client experience, and share updates with boutique leadership.
- Collaborate with Fashion Advisors and boutique teams to support client loyalty and an elevated fitting journey.
Requirements
- Degree or strong background in sewing, tailoring, or alterations.
- 6-7 years of tailoring experience, ideally in luxury or high-end fashion.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and finishing.
- Experience leading, coaching, or developing a team.
- Excellent client communication, organization, rigor, and accountability.
- Comfort with digital tools and reporting systems; fluent English required.
