Alterations Manager

Summary

The Alterations Manager leads the store alterations operation, balancing craftsmanship and operational excellence to deliver a premium client experience. The role develops the alterations team and partners with store leadership and selling teams to support sales, productivity, quality, and timely service.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop alterations colleagues, and support hiring, onboarding, and training.
• Partner with store leadership and selling colleagues to align services with store objectives and enhance the client experience.
• Advise on garment construction, fabrics, fit, markings, and complex alterations.
• Manage payroll, expenses, staffing, workload, revenue, productivity, and operational paperwork.
• Ensure timely, high-quality work and compliance with processes, safety standards, and equipment requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of direct experience; multi-brand and category experience preferred.
• Prior leadership experience required.
• Basic computer skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to use sewing and pressing equipment and lift and move up to 25 pounds.
