Summary
The Alterations Manager leads the alterations department to deliver exceptional service and support to clients and the selling organization. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager of Operations, this role builds processes, drives performance, and develops a high performing alterations team in a luxury retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and support to Alterations Associates to meet client and business needs
- Organize and build structural processes for the alterations department
- Drive outcomes through objective setting and monitoring progress and results
- Create a professional work environment that exemplifies company standards of excellence
- Foster effective teamwork between selling organization and alterations department
- Recruit select train and develop quality professional Alterations Associates
- Deliver ongoing education assessment and performance feedback on quality productivity and service
- Perform ad hoc responsibilities as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years management experience with comparable volume or proven track record managing operations
- Fitting and tailoring experience in high end or luxury merchandise preferred
- Ability to fit and perform alterations on a wide range of garments
- Knowledge of alterations industry including fabrication and styling of luxury merchandise
- Proficiency with technology including Word and Excel
- Flexible availability including evenings weekends and holidays
- Four year degree preferred
