Summary
Responsible for managing the store Tailor Shop to deliver high-quality alterations and superior customer service. Oversees associate development, ensures adherence to Neiman Marcus standards, and supports consultants and management with garment fit and care. Works on-site and reports to the Senior Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
- Ensure alterations customers receive consistent superior service and high-quality work within time frames
- Supervise duties of all alterations associates and allocate work to maintain productivity
- Perform sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning of merchandise as needed
- Ensure fittings and sewing meet company techniques and standards
- Train new alterations specialists in techniques and standards
- Support education of consultants and management in garment fit and selection
- Schedule appointments to generate alterations revenue and meet sales goals
- Ensure alterations policies, procedures, and price lists are followed
- Complete and submit required administrative paperwork in a timely manner
Requirements
- Experience managing sewers, tailors, or seamstresses
- Ability to perform garment fittings in both Mens and Womens apparel
- Understanding of garment construction and fabrication
- Knowledge and exposure to designer apparel
- Sewing ability is a plus
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to train and develop associates
