Alterations Specialist

Summary

The Alterations Specialist produces high-quality garment alterations while delivering excellent client service. The role fits and alters luxury garments, maintains client relationships, and collaborates with the boutique team.

Responsibilities

• Fit, alter, repair, and construct garments to client specifications, including hemming, mending, and adjusting seams.
• Record alteration requirements and maintain client-owned items in line with boutique standards.
• Provide fitting and styling advice and communicate with clients about their needs and preferences.
• Maintain sewing equipment and apply appropriate fabric and garment construction techniques.
• Collaborate with boutique associates and management to support client service and operations.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related alterations experience preferred, ideally in luxury retail.
• Strong knowledge of fabrics and sewing techniques, with specialty skills in areas such as fine tailoring, knits, leather, or beading.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and client service skills.
• High school diploma required; ability to lift 15 pounds and work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
