Summary
Provide high-quality garment alterations and repairs for clients in the Miami boutique, delivering precise workmanship and exceptional client service. Work with luxury fabrics and specialized techniques to ensure timely, accurate completion of projects while collaborating with the boutique team.
Responsibilities
- Produce altered merchandise to established production and quality standards within set timeframes
- Fit garments on clients and determine required alterations, including hemming, mending, lengthening, and taking in or letting out seams
- Construct garments and articles to clients’ specifications and preferences
- Organize, label, and maintain client-owned pieces and record required alterations
- Maintain sewing machines, irons, pressing equipment, and ensure they are in proper working order
- Interact with clients to provide styling and fitting advice and build strong client relationships
- Collaborate with boutique associates and management to support optimal client service
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of alterations experience in a luxury retail environment preferred
- Strong technical background with fabrics and specialty skills (leather, knits, double-face, beading, fine tailoring, buttonholes)
- Sound knowledge of various fabrics and sewing techniques and ability to work under time constraints
- Exceptional client service, communication skills, and attention to detail
- Flexible schedule with availability for late nights, weekends, and some holidays; ability to lift up to 15 lb
