The Alterations Specialist produces high-quality alterations to luxury garments within established timeframes. This in-store role combines technical garment expertise with fitting, styling advice, and exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

• Fit garments on clients and determine required alterations.
• Alter, repair, and construct garments, including hemming, mending, adjusting seams, and completing fine tailoring.
• Record alteration requirements and organize client-owned pieces.
• Communicate with clients about their needs and provide fitting and styling advice.
• Maintain sewing equipment and uphold boutique production and service standards.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related alterations experience preferred, ideally in luxury retail.
• Knowledge of fabrics and sewing techniques, including specialty materials and fine tailoring.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, teamwork, and client service skills.
• Ability to work under time constraints, lift up to 15 pounds, and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
