Summary
The Architecture and Design Lead will develop and execute design for flagship retail stores including new buildouts and renovations, reporting to the Head of Architecture and Design for Global Flagships. This role requires high-level design expertise, coordination with cross functional teams, and oversight of project delivery through construction and installation. The position supports team leadership, mentoring, and studio culture while ensuring design quality across multiple projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop retail brand concepts and design new stores and renovations.
- Partner with business, merchandising, and retail teams to integrate program goals.
- Manage and direct multiple projects and coordinate with project managers.
- Lead design reviews, critiques, and approvals to maintain quality outcomes.
- Produce schematic design and design development packages for stores and renovations.
- Oversee project management tasks including design, construction, millwork review, budget, and schedule.
- Coordinate scope with consultants such as lighting, engineering, and code.
- Maintain ongoing communication with managers regarding project status and progress.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, and retention of design talent.
Requirements
- High level experience in high end or luxury retail design or equivalent architecture interior design experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with Adobe and Autodesk tools.
- Proficiency in Word Excel and Microsoft Project.
- Strong understanding of classical and modern architectural design and millwork standards.
- Ability to produce sketches and hand drawings and strong design skills.
- Analytical skills attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Experience leading and mentoring architects and designers and fostering collaborative studio culture.
