Job Description

Summary

Paid 9-week summer internship supporting the Archives and Merchandising team, focused on organizing, digitizing, and researching archival jewelry materials. Interns will collaborate on projects, develop a capstone presentation, and participate in professional development events.

Responsibilities

  • Check physical items against a digital database to assess digitization needs
  • Update metadata in various databases
  • Organize and sort archive collections
  • Fulfill internal requests for archive assets
  • Assist archive staff with day-to-day tasks and needs
  • Conduct research for new acquisitions and special projects
  • Collaborate on team capstone project and presentations

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate studies with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated graduate students in library science or related discipline preferred
  • Passionate attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively following established workflows
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with ability to prioritize deadlines
  • Understanding of archival standards, concepts, and best practices
  • Interest in jewelry, gemology, and art history preferred
