Job Description

Summary

As an Assembly Technician, you will play a crucial role in the production process, ensuring the quality and accuracy of ophthalmic lenses and frames. You will work in a dynamic environment that values technical aptitude and attention to detail, contributing to the transformation of the eyewear and eyecare industry.

Responsibilities
  • Clip and secure lenses into baskets for the coating process.
  • Operate coating machines, including loading chemicals and handling lenses.
  • Inspect lenses for optical and cosmetic accuracy.
  • Utilize bevel wheels to remove sharp edges from lenses.
  • Insert edged lenses into frames, ensuring proper fit and alignment.
  • Operate edging machines to cut lenses to the correct size and shape.
  • Prepare uncut lenses for edging by marking and blocking.
  • Tint lenses accurately and inspect for quality standards.
  • Block lenses for surfacing and operate taping equipment.
  • Fine and polish lenses using specialized equipment.
  • Hand wash and dry lenses, performing cosmetic inspections.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • High mechanical aptitude and 1+ years of related work experience.
  • Ability to meet measurable standards in a production environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Willingness to stand and walk for the duration of shifts.
  • Comfortable working with chemicals and in potentially wet or dirty environments.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
