Summary
The Asset Protection Agent is responsible for protecting customers, employees, store assets and merchandise by preventing theft, investigating incidents, and supporting store emergency response efforts. The role uses surveillance, investigative techniques, and partnership with store leadership and law enforcement to reduce shrink and maintain store safety. The Agent participates in audits, training, and reporting to support product accuracy and a secure store environment.
Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve theft through apprehensions and adherence to AP policies and procedures.
- Monitor video systems and leverage reporting and surveillance to detect theft trends and support investigations.
- Investigate internal theft, gather evidence, and collaborate with AP leadership and investigative teams.
- Use RFID and other data to review merchandise movement and aid item-level investigations.
- Respond to and report security and emergency incidents, support the Emergency Response Team, and participate in first aid and emergency training.
- Prepare timely incident and investigation reports and testify in court when required.
- Lead security audits, drive shrinkage reduction actions, and train store teams on merchandise protection standards.
- Build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement.

- Maintain confidentiality and remain calm when handling aggressive behavior or safety issues.
- Flexible availability to work schedules based on business needs.
- Meet any state and local licensing requirements applicable to the role.
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures is preferred.
