Summary
Protect customers, employees, merchandise, and physical spaces by preventing and investigating theft, responding to emergencies, and supporting store safety programs. Partner with store leadership, law enforcement, and AP teams to reduce shrinkage and maintain incident documentation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct apprehensions and resolve theft incidents following policy and AP guidance.
- Monitor video systems and leverage surveillance to support investigations.
- Identify theft trends using reporting, technology, and RFID data.
- Investigate internal theft and gather evidence in partnership with AP leadership and investigations teams.
- Prepare and submit reports for high-profile incidents, recoveries, investigations, and safety incidents.
- Respond to and escalate store security and emergency incidents, including medical emergencies.
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training.
- Lead security audits, shrinkage awareness efforts, and training within the store.
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases.
Requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
- Ability to make decisions and use good judgment in fast-paced environments.
- Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain calm when handling aggressive behavior.
- Accountability, initiative, and high level of ownership.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Meet state and local licensing requirements as applicable.
