Summary
The Asset Protection Agent safeguards customers, employees, merchandise, and physical spaces by preventing and investigating theft, responding to emergencies, and supporting store safety initiatives. This role partners with store leadership, emergency response teams, and local law enforcement to reduce shrinkage and maintain a secure environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct apprehensions and resolve theft incidents following policy and procedures
- Monitor video systems and use surveillance tactics to identify theft trends
- Support internal investigations and gather evidence for incidents
- Leverage RFID and reporting tools to assist merchandise accuracy and investigations
- Respond to and report store security and emergency incidents including medical emergencies
- Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness training within the store
- Prepare detailed reports for high profile incidents and recoveries
- Testify in court when required
- Collaborate with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and law enforcement
Requirements
- Ability to make decisions and use good judgment in a fast paced environment
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Calm demeanor when managing safety issues and aggressive behavior
- Accountability, initiative, and high level of ownership
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Meet state and local licensing requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection or security procedures preferred
