Summary
Protect customers, team members, merchandise, and physical spaces by preventing, investigating, and resolving theft and safety incidents. Partner with store leadership, Emergency Response Team, and external authorities to respond to emergencies, conduct investigations, and maintain loss prevention standards. Use surveillance, reporting, and RFID technology to identify trends and support inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Conduct apprehensions and resolve theft incidents in accordance with policy and AP guidance.
- Monitor video systems and leverage surveillance to support investigations.
- Identify theft trends using reporting and technology and implement action plans to reduce shrinkage.
- Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and working with AP leadership and investigation teams.
- Use RFID data to support merchandise movement and item level investigations.
- Respond to, escalate, and report store security and emergency incidents including medical emergencies.
- Lead security audits, participate in store meetings, and deliver shrinkage awareness training.
- Prepare and submit reports for high-profile incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations.
- Testify in court when summoned and build partnerships with law enforcement and neighboring retailers.
Requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
- Ability to make sound decisions and be accountable in a fast paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain calm when handling aggressive behavior.
- Capability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements.
