Summary
Responsible for protecting customers, team members, store assets and merchandise by preventing, investigating, and resolving theft and safety incidents. Partners with store Emergency Response Team to prepare for and respond to emergencies while supporting shrinkage reduction and inventory accuracy initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality apprehensions and resolve theft incidents in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Monitor video systems and leverage surveillance technology to identify and investigate theft trends.
- Support internal and external investigations by gathering evidence and preparing incident reports.
- Use RFID and exception reporting to aid merchandise investigations and improve inventory accuracy.
- Respond to and report security and emergency incidents including medical emergencies.
- Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness efforts and deliver training within the store.
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training.
- Coordinate with AP leadership, investigation teams, local law enforcement and neighboring retailers.
Requirements
- Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment in a fast paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a calm demeanor when handling aggressive behavior.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Meet state and local licensing requirements where applicable.
- Experience with investigative, asset protection or security procedures preferred.
- Accountability, initiative and a high level of ownership.
