Summary
Protect store assets, customers, and employees by preventing and investigating theft, maintaining safety, and supporting emergency response. Partner with store leadership and external authorities to resolve incidents, conduct investigations, and improve inventory accuracy and shrinkage prevention.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft incidents and conduct apprehensions in accordance with policy and leadership guidance.
- Monitor surveillance and video systems to identify theft activity and support investigations.
- Leverage reporting tools and RFID data to identify theft trends and merchandise movement.
- Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and collaborating with AP leadership and investigation teams.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations.
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response and first aid training.
- Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness efforts and training within the store.
- Maintain safety and security by responding to and escalating security and emergency incidents, including medical emergencies.
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases.
Requirements
- Ability to make sound decisions and use good judgment in a fast paced environment.
- Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain calm when handling aggressive individuals.
- Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership with flexibility to work varied schedules.
- Meet state and local licensing requirements when applicable.
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
- Ability to collaborate with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement.
