Job Description

Summary

The Asset Protection Agent is responsible for protecting customers, employees, merchandise, and physical store assets by preventing and investigating theft and maintaining safety. The role partners with store leadership, Emergency Response Team, and local authorities to respond to incidents, conduct investigations, and support loss prevention initiatives. The Agent leverages surveillance systems, RFID data, and reporting to identify trends and implement shrinkage reduction strategies. This position requires flexible scheduling and adherence to policy and legal procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality apprehensions and resolve theft while following policy and AP leadership guidance
  • Monitor video systems and use surveillance to support investigations
  • Identify theft trends using reporting, technology, and RFID data
  • Investigate internal theft and gather evidence for investigations
  • Prepare and submit reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations
  • Participate in store Emergency Response Team activities and emergency response training
  • Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness efforts and training within the store
  • Build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement
  • Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases

Requirements

  • Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred
  • Ability to make sound decisions and use good judgment in fast paced environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities
  • Maintain confidentiality and a calm demeanor when handling aggressive behavior
  • Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
  • Meet any state and local licensing requirements
  • Willingness to participate in required training such as First Aid
