Summary
The Asset Protection Agent protects customers, employees, and store assets by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and maintaining security and safety within the store and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft incidents and conduct apprehensions in accordance with policy and leadership guidance
- Identify theft trends using reporting, surveillance, and technology tools
- Implement shrinkage reduction action plans and merchandise protection standards
- Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and partnering with AP leadership and investigation teams
- Use video systems and RFID data to support investigations and monitor merchandise movement
- Respond to store security and emergency incidents including medical emergencies
- Lead security audits and participate in store meetings and shrinkage awareness training
- Prepare and submit reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations
- Testify in court when summoned and build partnerships with store leaders and local law enforcement
Requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection or security procedures preferred
- Ability to make and be accountable for decisions and use good judgment in a fast paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain calm when dealing with aggressive behavior
- Accountability, initiative, and high level of ownership
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Meet any state and local licensing requirements
- Willingness to participate in Emergency Response Team training including First Aid
