Summary
The Asset Protection Agent maintains safety and security for customers, team members, and store assets by preventing and investigating theft, mitigating shrinkage, and supporting store emergency response efforts. The role uses surveillance, RFID data, reporting tools, and investigative techniques to identify trends, conduct apprehensions, and support internal and external investigations. Agents also respond to safety incidents, prepare incident reports, and partner with store leadership and local law enforcement.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality apprehensions and resolve theft incidents while following policy and AP leadership guidance.
- Monitor video systems and leverage RFID and reporting tools to identify theft trends and support investigations.
- Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and coordinating with AP leadership and investigations teams.
- Drive shrinkage reduction through action plans, merchandise protection standards, and security audits.
- Respond to, escalate, and report store security, safety, and emergency incidents, including medical emergencies.
- Serve as a member of the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response and First Aid training.
- Prepare and submit prompt, complete reports for high-profile incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations; testify in court when required.
- Build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement.
