Summary
The Asset Protection Agent protects customers, employees, merchandise, and store assets by preventing and investigating theft, responding to emergencies, and supporting loss prevention initiatives. This role partners with store teams, law enforcement, and investigation leadership to maintain a safe shopping environment and reduce shrinkage.
Responsibilities
- Investigate theft incidents and conduct apprehensions following policy and procedures
- Monitor video systems and leverage surveillance to support investigations
- Use RFID and reporting tools to identify theft trends and merchandise movement
- Prepare and submit detailed reports for incidents, recoveries, and investigations
- Support internal theft investigations and partner with AP leadership and investigation teams
- Respond to and report store security and emergency incidents including medical emergencies
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training
- Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness efforts and training within the store
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases
Requirements
- Ability to make accountable decisions and use good judgment in a fast paced environment
- Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a calm demeanor in safety situations
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Meet state and local licensing requirements where applicable
- Experience in investigative, asset protection or security procedures preferred
- Willingness to build partnerships with store leaders and local law enforcement
