Summary
The Asset Protection Agent is responsible for protecting customers, employees, store assets, and merchandise by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and partnering with store leadership to reduce shrinkage. This role involves surveillance, investigations, reporting, and participation in the store Emergency Response Team.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft through quality apprehensions while adhering to policy and AP guidance.
- Monitor video and surveillance systems to detect and investigate theft activity.
- Identify theft trends and leverage reporting and technology to inform action plans.
- Investigate internal theft and gather evidence in coordination with AP leadership and investigation teams.
- Use RFID and other data sources to support merchandise movement investigations.
- Respond to and report security incidents and medical emergencies, maintaining customer and employee safety.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations.
- Participate in security audits, shrinkage awareness efforts, and store training initiatives.
- Serve on the Emergency Response Team and testify in court when required.
Requirements
- Ability to make sound decisions and use good judgment in fast paced situations.
- Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a calm demeanor when managing aggressive behavior.
- Accountability, initiative, and high level of ownership with flexibility to work varied schedules.
- Meet state and local licensing requirements as applicable.
- Experience with investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
- Ability to prepare thorough incident and investigation reports.
