Summary
Responsible for protecting people, physical spaces, and product accuracy by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and maintaining store safety and security. Works closely with store leadership, law enforcement, and AP teams to reduce shrinkage and ensure merchandise availability. Uses surveillance, reporting, and RFID tools to identify trends and support investigations.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft incidents and conduct apprehensions in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Monitor video systems and leverage surveillance to support investigations.
- Identify theft trends using reporting tools and implement shrinkage reduction plans.
- Investigate internal theft and gather evidence for investigations.
- Prepare and submit reports for incidents, recoveries, and policy violations.
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency training including First Aid.
- Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness efforts and training within the store.
- Support safety and security by responding to and escalating store security and emergency incidents.
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases.
Requirements
- Ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment in a fast paced environment.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain calm when managing aggressive behavior.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Meet any state and local licensing requirements.
- Experience in investigative, asset protection or security procedures preferred.
- Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership.
- Ability to build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and law enforcement.
