Summary
The Asset Protection Agent works to keep customers, teams and merchandise safe by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response efforts, and protecting store assets and physical spaces. The role partners with store leadership and external agencies to respond to incidents, conduct investigations, and maintain security procedures.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft incidents and conduct apprehensions following policy and leadership guidance.
- Monitor surveillance and video systems to identify theft trends and support investigations.
- Implement shrinkage reduction action plans and merchandise protection standards.
- Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and collaborating with AP leadership and investigation teams.
- Use RFID and reporting tools to analyze merchandise movement and accuracy.
- Respond to and report security, safety, and emergency incidents including medical emergencies.
- Lead security audits, participate in store meetings, and provide shrinkage awareness training.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations.
- Testify in court when required and build partnerships with local law enforcement and neighboring retailers.
