Summary
Responsible for protecting customers, employees, merchandise, and store assets by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and maintaining safety and security standards. Works closely with store leadership, law enforcement, and AP teams to reduce shrinkage and support product accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Conduct apprehensions and resolve theft incidents following policy and AP guidance
- Monitor video systems and leverage surveillance to support investigations
- Identify theft trends using reporting, technology, and RFID data
- Investigate internal theft and gather evidence for referrals
- Prepare and submit incident and investigation reports promptly
- Participate in the store Emergency Response Team and emergency training
- Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness and training within the store
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases
- Build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement
Requirements
- Ability to use good judgment and be accountable for decisions in a fast paced environment
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Calm demeanor when handling safety issues and aggressive behavior
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Meet state and local licensing requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection or security procedures preferred
- Ability to prepare thorough reports and testify if required
