Job Description

Summary

The Asset Protection Agent protects customers, employees, and company assets by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and maintaining store security. This role partners with store leadership and external agencies to reduce shrinkage and ensure a safe shopping environment.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve theft incidents and conduct apprehensions in accordance with policy and leadership guidance.
  • Identify theft trends using reporting, surveillance, and technology tools.
  • Implement shrinkage reduction action plans and merchandise protection standards.
  • Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and coordinating with AP leadership and investigation teams.
  • Use video systems and RFID data to support investigations and monitor merchandise movement.
  • Respond to, escalate, and report store security incidents and medical emergencies.
  • Lead security audits and participate in store meetings and training on shrinkage awareness.
  • Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training including First Aid.
  • Prepare incident reports and testify in court when required.

Requirements

  • Ability to make accountable decisions and use good judgment in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality and a calm demeanor with aggressive individuals.
  • Accountability, initiative, and ownership with flexible scheduling based on business needs.
  • Meet state and local licensing requirements applicable to the role.
  • Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
  • Ability to build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and law enforcement.
