Summary
Protect customers, team members, and company assets by preventing and investigating theft, maintaining safety, and supporting emergency response efforts. Partner with store leadership and external agencies to reduce shrinkage and improve merchandise accuracy while maintaining confidentiality and professional judgment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct apprehensions and resolve theft incidents in accordance with policy and AP leadership guidance.
- Monitor video systems and leverage technology to identify theft trends and support investigations.
- Use RFID and reporting tools to assist item level investigations and improve inventory accuracy.
- Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and coordinating with AP leadership and investigation teams.
- Respond to and report security and emergency incidents including medical emergencies.
- Lead security audits, shrinkage awareness efforts, and training within the store.
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training including First Aid.
- Prepare and submit reports for high-profile incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations.
- Testify in court when summoned and build partnerships with local law enforcement and neighboring retailers.
Requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection or security procedures preferred.
- Strong judgment and accountability in fast-paced retail environments.
- Clear verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain calm during safety incidents.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Meet state and local licensing requirements where applicable.
- Ability to conduct quality apprehensions while following policy and procedures.
- Comfort using surveillance systems and technology to support investigations.
