Summary
The Asset Protection Agent protects customers, employees, and merchandise by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and maintaining store safety and security. This role partners with store leadership and external agencies to investigate incidents, monitor surveillance, and drive shrinkage reduction efforts.
Responsibilities
- Conduct apprehensions and resolve theft incidents following policy and procedures
- Monitor video and surveillance systems to identify and investigate theft activity
- Use reporting, technology, and RFID data to identify theft trends and support investigations
- Prepare and submit detailed reports for incidents, recoveries, and investigations
- Participate in and support internal theft investigations and gather evidence
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and assist with safety and medical incidents
- Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness training within the store
- Work with local law enforcement and neighboring retailers when necessary
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases
Requirements
- Ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment in a fast paced environment
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Calm demeanor when handling safety issues and aggressive behavior
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Meet state and local licensing requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred
- Accountability, initiative, and high level of ownership
