Summary
The Asset Protection Agent is responsible for protecting customers, employees, merchandise, and store assets by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and maintaining a safe store environment. The role partners with store leadership and external agencies to resolve incidents and reduce shrinkage through surveillance, audits, and training.
Responsibilities
- Conduct apprehensions and resolve thefts in accordance with policy and AP leadership guidance.
- Monitor video systems and leverage RFID and reporting tools to identify theft trends and support investigations.
- Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and collaborating with AP leadership and investigation teams.
- Respond to and report store security and emergency incidents including medical emergencies.
- Lead security audits and participate in store meetings to promote shrinkage reduction and merchandise protection standards.
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training including First Aid.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations.
- Build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement.
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases.

- Accountability, initiative, and high level of ownership with a flexible schedule.
- Meet any state and local licensing requirements.
- Experience with investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
- Ability to prepare thorough incident reports and collaborate across teams.
