Summary
Protect customers, employees, merchandise, and store assets through prevention, investigation, and response to theft and safety incidents. Partner with store teams and external authorities to support emergency response, conduct investigations, and maintain a secure shopping environment. Use surveillance systems and data tools to identify trends and drive shrinkage reduction.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft incidents and conduct apprehensions in accordance with policy and leadership guidance.
- Monitor video systems and leverage RFID and reporting tools to support investigations.
- Identify theft trends and implement action plans to reduce shrinkage.
- Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and partnering with AP leadership and investigation teams.
- Respond to, escalate, and report security and emergency incidents including medical emergencies.
- Lead security audits and contribute to shrinkage awareness and training within the store.
- Prepare and submit reports for high-profile incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations.
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training.
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases.
Requirements
- Ability to make and be accountable for decisions and use good judgment in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and a calm demeanor when addressing safety issues and aggressive behavior.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Meet state and local licensing requirements.
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
- Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership.
