Summary
The Asset Protection Agent protects customers, employees, store assets and merchandise by preventing and investigating theft, maintaining safety, and supporting emergency response efforts. The role partners with store leadership and local authorities to resolve incidents, conduct investigations, and support shrinkage reduction initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct apprehensions and resolve theft incidents following policy and AP leadership guidance.
- Monitor video systems and leverage surveillance to identify and investigate theft activity.
- Use RFID and reporting tools to analyze merchandise movement and support investigations.
- Investigate internal theft and gather evidence for partnership with AP leadership and investigations team.
- Respond to and report security incidents and medical emergencies to maintain safety.
- Participate in and lead store security audits and shrinkage awareness training.
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training including First Aid.
- Prepare prompt and complete incident and investigation reports and testify in court when summoned.
- Build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement.
