Summary
Responsible for protecting customers, employees, merchandise, and physical spaces by preventing and investigating theft, responding to emergencies, and supporting store safety initiatives. Partners with store leadership, neighboring retailers, and law enforcement to reduce shrinkage and maintain a safe shopping environment. Role involves surveillance, reporting, and participation in the store Emergency Response Team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct apprehensions and resolve theft incidents in accordance with policy and leadership guidance
- Monitor video systems and use surveillance tools to identify theft trends
- Implement shrinkage reduction action plans and merchandise protection standards
- Investigate internal theft and collaborate with AP leadership and investigation teams
- Leverage RFID and reporting data to aid investigations and analyze merchandise movement
- Respond to, escalate, and report security and emergency incidents including medical emergencies
- Lead security audits and participate in store meetings and shrinkage awareness training
- Prepare and submit detailed reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations
- Testify in court when required
Requirements
- Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment in fast paced environments
- Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills
- High level of confidentiality and calm demeanor when handling aggressive behavior
- Accountability, initiative, and ownership with flexibility to work varied schedules
- Meet state and local licensing requirements where applicable
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred
- Ability to participate in Emergency Response Team training including First Aid
