Summary
The Asset Protection Agent is responsible for protecting customers, employees, merchandise, and store assets by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and maintaining a safe store environment. This role partners with store leadership and local authorities to resolve incidents and support loss prevention initiatives. The agent uses surveillance, reporting, and data tools to identify trends and aid investigations while participating in emergency response training.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft incidents and conduct apprehensions in accordance with policy and leadership guidance.
- Monitor video systems and use surveillance tactics to identify and document theft activity.
- Investigate internal and external theft by gathering evidence and partnering with investigation teams.
- Leverage RFID and reporting tools to analyze merchandise movement and support item level investigations.
- Lead security audits and implement merchandise protection standards to reduce shrinkage.
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and respond to security and medical emergencies.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations.
- Build relationships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement.
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases.

- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Meet state and local licensing requirements.
- Experience in investigative, asset protection or security procedures preferred.
- Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership.
- Ability to participate in First Aid and emergency response training.
