Asset Protection Agent - The Mall In Columbia

Summary

The Asset Protection Agent protects customers, teams and company assets by preventing and investigating theft, supporting store safety, and maintaining merchandise availability. This role partners with store leadership, local law enforcement, and emergency response teams to address security incidents and reduce shrinkage. Agents use surveillance, reporting tools, and RFID data to identify trends and support investigations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct apprehensions and resolve theft incidents in accordance with policy and procedures.
• Monitor video systems and leverage RFID and reporting tools to identify theft trends and support investigations.
• Investigate internal theft and gather evidence for follow up with leadership and investigation teams.
• Respond to, escalate, and report store security, safety, and emergency incidents; serve on the Emergency Response Team.
• Lead security audits, shrinkage awareness efforts, and training within the store.
• Prepare incident and investigation reports and testify in court when required.

Requirements

• Good judgment, clear verbal and written communication, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain calm when addressing aggressive behavior or safety incidents.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules based on business needs and meet state or local licensing requirements.
• Experience with investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
