Summary
Responsible for protecting customers, team members, merchandise, and store assets by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and maintaining safety and security protocols. Works with store leadership, law enforcement, and cross functional teams to reduce shrinkage and ensure accurate product availability.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft incidents and conduct apprehensions in line with policy and leadership guidance
- Monitor video and surveillance systems to identify and investigate suspicious activity
- Identify theft trends and implement action plans to drive shrinkage reduction
- Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and partnering with investigation teams
- Leverage RFID and reporting tools to support merchandise accuracy and item level investigations
- Respond to and report store security incidents and medical emergencies
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training
- Prepare and submit incident and investigation reports and testify in court when required
- Build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement
Requirements
- Ability to make and be accountable for decisions and use good judgment in fast paced environments
- Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Maintain confidentiality and handle aggressive behavior with a calm demeanor
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Meet state and local licensing requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection or security procedures preferred
- Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership
