Asset Protection Agent - Washington Square

Summary

The Asset Protection Agent protects customers, employees, and merchandise by preventing and investigating theft and maintaining store safety. The role partners with store leadership, neighboring retailers, and law enforcement to respond to incidents and support investigations. Agents use surveillance, RFID, and reporting tools to identify trends and drive shrinkage reduction.

Responsibilities

• Resolve theft and conduct quality apprehensions in accordance with policy and AP guidance.
• Use video systems and RFID data to monitor activity and support item-level investigations.
• Investigate internal theft, gather evidence, prepare reports, and support legal processes including testifying when summoned.
• Respond to, escalate, and report security, safety, and medical incidents and serve on the Emergency Response Team.
• Lead security audits, shrinkage awareness efforts, training, and implementation of merchandise protection standards.
• Build cross-functional partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement.

Requirements

• Good judgment, accountability, and the ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain calm when dealing with aggressive behavior.
• Meet any state and local licensing requirements.
• Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
• Ability to prepare prompt, complete incident reports and testify in court when required.
