Summary
The Asset Protection Agent protects customers, team members, merchandise, and store assets by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and maintaining a safe retail environment. The role partners with store leadership and external agencies to reduce shrinkage and support product accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Conduct apprehensions and resolve theft incidents in accordance with policy and leadership guidance
- Monitor surveillance and video systems to identify theft trends and support investigations
- Investigate internal theft and gather evidence for incidents and exception-based reports
- Leverage RFID and reporting tools to analyze merchandise movement and support item level investigations
- Respond to and report store security, safety, and emergency incidents including medical emergencies
- Lead security audits and participate in shrinkage awareness and training efforts
- Prepare and submit reports for high-profile incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases
Requirements
- Ability to make decisions and use good judgment in a fast-paced environment
- Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain calm when handling aggressive behavior
- Accountability, initiative, and high level of ownership
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Meet state and local licensing requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred
