Summary
Responsible for protecting customers, employees, merchandise, and physical store assets by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and promoting shrinkage reduction strategies. Works closely with store leadership, law enforcement, and AP teams to investigate incidents and maintain a safe shopping environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct apprehensions and resolve theft incidents following policy and AP guidance
- Monitor video systems and leverage surveillance technology for investigations
- Identify theft trends and implement shrinkage reduction action plans
- Investigate internal theft and gather evidence for investigations
- Use RFID and reporting tools to support merchandise accuracy and investigations
- Respond to and report security incidents and emergencies including medical events
- Lead security audits and participate in store meetings and training
- Prepare detailed reports for incidents, recoveries, and investigations
- Testify in court when required
Requirements
- Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment in fast paced situations
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Calm demeanor when handling aggressive individuals and safety issues
- Accountability, initiative, and high level of ownership
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Meet state and local licensing requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred
