Summary
The Asset Protection Coordinator I is responsible for detecting, deterring and investigating theft and safety risks in the store while promoting compliance with company policies. The role supports loss prevention programs, conducts surveillance and investigations, and collaborates with store management and law enforcement to protect company assets and maintain a safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct surveillance and apprehension of external theft suspects following company guidelines
- Operate and monitor store security systems including CCTV
- Assist in internal theft investigations under direction of Asset Protection management
- Monitor facility and store access to deter unauthorized removal of assets
- Complete incident, investigation and audit reports accurately and timely
- Maintain relationships with local law enforcement and mall security and represent the company in court
- Assist in planning, execution and reconciliation of inventory
- Partner with store teams to develop and execute shrink action plans and awareness programs
- Promote safety and compliance with operational procedures
Requirements
- Several years of retail experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Complete pre-hire paperwork including background check
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills, familiarity with Windows and Excel
- Working knowledge of CCTV monitoring systems preferred
- Ability to stand and walk the sales floor for 6-8 hours and lift or move objects up to 20 lbs or greater as needed
- Ability to work day or evening hours including weekends and holidays
- Must meet any state or local licensing requirements
