Asset Protection Investigator

Summary

Responsible for monitoring shortage results, conducting investigations and apprehensions for internal and external theft, and implementing store safety and awareness programs at a single store location. Works under direction of the Asset Protection Manager or Assistant General Manager Operations and supports training of store associates on asset protection policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shortage reports and audit results daily and monthly
• Conduct investigations into internal and external theft and pursue apprehensions
• Develop and implement shortage control strategies for merchandise groups
• Train and coach store associates on asset protection awareness and procedures
• Organize and conduct annual store inventory
• Maintain paperwork controls and documentation for investigations
• Support store safety programs and awareness initiatives
• Collaborate with management on loss prevention plans

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years asset protection experience in a large volume retail environment preferred
• Certification required where applicable by jurisdiction
• Ability to learn company standards, procedures, and IT applications quickly
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Wicklander-Zulawski certification a plus
• Strong communication and training skills
• Ability to conduct investigations and handle sensitive situations professionally
