Asset Protection Investigator

Summary

Responsible for monitoring shortage results and implementing shortage control, conducting investigations and apprehensions for internal and external theft, and supporting store safety and awareness programs under direction of the Asset Protection Manager or Assistant General Manager Operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shortage reports and conduct daily and monthly audits to maintain inventory integrity
• Organize and conduct annual store inventory
• Develop shortage strategies for merchandise groups and paperwork controls
• Train store associates on awareness and asset protection policies and procedures
• Conduct investigations and apprehensions related to internal and external theft
• Implement store safety and awareness programs
• Use store IT applications and follow company standards and procedures
• Perform ad hoc asset protection responsibilities as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years asset protection experience, preferably in large volume retail
• Certification required where applicable by jurisdiction
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Wicklander-Zulawski certification a plus
• Ability to quickly learn company standards, procedures, and IT applications
• Strong communication and training skills
• Ability to develop strategies and solve complex problems
