Asset Protection Investigator

Summary

Responsible for monitoring shortage results and controlling inventory loss through investigations and apprehensions of internal and external theft. Works under direction of the Asset Protection Manager or Assistant General Manager Operations to implement store safety and awareness programs and train store associates on asset protection policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shortage reports and conduct daily and monthly audits to maintain inventory integrity
• Conduct investigations into internal and external theft and pursue apprehensions when appropriate
• Organize and conduct annual store inventory
• Develop shortage strategies for merchandise groups and paperwork controls
• Train store associates on awareness and asset protection policies and procedures
• Implement store safety and awareness programs
• Use store IT applications and systems for reporting and tracking incidents
• Perform ad hoc asset protection responsibilities as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years asset protection experience in a large volume retail environment preferred
• Relevant certification required where applicable by jurisdiction
• Ability to learn company standards, procedures, and IT applications quickly
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Wicklander-Zulawski certification a plus
• Strong communication and training skills
• Ability to develop and implement shortage control strategies
