Summary
The Asset Protection Overnight Agent is responsible for protecting customers, employees, and company assets at the NYC flagship through loss prevention, investigations, surveillance, and emergency response. This role works closely with store leadership, Emergency Response Team members, and external partners to identify and mitigate shrinkage and safety risks while maintaining confidentiality and sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft and conduct apprehensions in high shrinkage areas following policy and leadership guidance.
- Monitor video and surveillance systems to detect and investigate suspicious activity.
- Identify theft trends using reporting, technology, and RFID data to support investigations.
- Lead security audits and implement merchandise protection standards to reduce shrinkage.
- Respond to, escalate, and report store security incidents and medical emergencies.
- Prepare and submit incident and investigation reports for high-profile events and recoveries.
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response and first aid training.
- Partner with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement on investigations and security matters.
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases.
Requirements
- Ability to make accountable decisions and use good judgment in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of confidentiality and a calm demeanor when handling aggressive behavior.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including overnight shifts.
- Meet state and local licensing requirements as applicable.
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build cross functional partnerships.
