Asset Protection Visual Security Officer

Summary

Provides a visible security presence on the sales floor and in common areas to deter theft and protect merchandise and guests. Monitors store activity through patrols and video surveillance, responds to incidents, and partners with store leadership and law enforcement as needed. Works a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends to maintain a safe shopping environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible presence on the sales floor and perform regular patrols of the store and perimeter.
• Monitor CCTV and other surveillance systems and report suspicious activity.
• Investigate and document incidents, prepare written reports, and preserve evidence.
• Apprehend and detain shoplifters in accordance with policy and local law, coordinating with law enforcement when necessary.
• Support store management with safety procedures and loss prevention initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in retail loss prevention, security, or law enforcement preferred.
• Strong observational and interpersonal skills with the ability to de-escalate conflicts.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform regular patrols for extended periods; flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to complete background checks and any required licensing.
