Summary
The Assistant General Manager will partner with the General Manager to support all functions of an MCM retail location, executing plans and strategies to drive sales, operations, talent management, clientele development, and merchandising while ensuring a positive customer and workplace experience.
Responsibilities
- Achieve or exceed sales targets including top and bottom-line results for the store
- Resolve customer issues by investigating problems developing solutions and coaching staff
- Train staff on standard operating procedures and ensure understanding of SOPs
- Monitor inventory planning and maintain in-stocks turnover and flow metrics
- Maintain loss prevention procedures and enhance receiving security
- Review retail profit and loss statements to identify profitability opportunities and coach associates
- Analyze business needs identify top and slow sellers and execute merchandising strategy
- Perform store opening and closing procedures per company standards
- Review company communications and disseminate relevant information to staff
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of store management experience preferably with fashion or luxury brands
- BA or BS degree
- Experience in retail operations including payroll shrink and inventory management
- Experience with store openings and rollouts
- Proven leadership in developing and mentoring staff
- Strong presentation skills and ability to manage product knowledge sessions
- Solid understanding of retail math and analytics with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work retail hours stand for long periods and multitask in a fast paced environment
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills specifically Word and Excel
