Summary

The Assistant Sales Department Manager supports the department manager in driving sales, developing the team, ensuring merchandising standards, and delivering excellent customer service. This role focuses on recruiting, training, coaching, and selling on the floor to achieve department productivity and inventory goals.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train and develop department sales team
• Assist department manager in achieving sales volume and productivity goals
• Develop and execute a department business plan
• Coach salespeople to deliver outstanding customer service
• Actively sell on the floor to build customer relationships
• Ensure merchandising and presentation standards are met
• Support accurate inventory management and shrinkage goals

• Track record of successful sales results and productivity
• Competitive drive and confidence to succeed in a commission environment
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals
• Experience developing productive relationships with store and department leaders
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
