Summary
The Assistant Manager - Asset Protection partners with leadership to maintain store security and safety, respond to security and emergency situations, and support investigative and loss prevention activities. This role involves coaching asset protection staff, reviewing incident reports and surveillance, and participating in emergency response efforts.
Responsibilities
- Work with Asset Protection leadership to ensure building security and safety
- Respond to and report store security and emergency situations including first aid and removal of hostile individuals
- Partner with the Asset Protection Manager to assist employees with safety incidents and join the store Emergency Response team when needed
- Observe customer behavior for indicators of internal and external theft including fraudulent transactions and shoplifting
- Coach Asset Protection employees to meet performance standards and expectations
- Review and approve reports to ensure loss prevention incidents and cases are properly documented
- Document review of detention room videotapes and surveillance footage
Requirements
- Proven success in investigative, asset protection and security procedures
- Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with employees and leaders
- Strong organizational, delegation and follow-through skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced retail environment
- Computer proficiency including use of monitoring and surveillance technologies
- Knowledge of APIS and XBR preferred
- Willingness to participate in emergency response and safety protocols
