Summary

The Assistant Manager for Designer Shoes supports the Department Manager in driving sales, coaching the team, and delivering exceptional customer experiences on the sales floor. This role helps execute business plans, maintain merchandising and inventory standards, and contribute to departmental productivity. It requires active selling and leading by example to build long lasting customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, develop, and motivate department sales team
• Assist the department manager in achieving department volume and productivity goals and execute a business plan
• Coach and lead salespeople to deliver outstanding customer service and directive selling
• Ensure merchandising and presentation standards are met
• Actively sell on the floor and build a loyal customer following
• Support accurate inventory management and strive to meet shrinkage goals

Requirements

• Proven track record of successful results such as strong productivity or personal trade
• Competitive drive and ability to succeed in a commission based environment
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals
• Experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with department and store leaders and divisional merchandisers
• Strong organizational skills and follow through
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
